Things aren't looking good for the Houston area

Not too long ago I got the call from my parents that their area is under mandatory evacuation. Current predictions put their neighborhood at 10 feet under water after the storm. :(

How does this affect the wedding, or has it already happened? I haven't been here much in a while.

Yep, it is getting bad but all will be OK if people simply listen to the authorities. We do not have to evacuate as we are in the far Northeast part of town and very high comparatively speaking. I wish your parents and everyone else in this storm's path well. My stepdaughter called a couple of hours ago on her way back from Galveston with her husband....they emptied their 51 foot yacht of all belongings because it more than likely will not exist in any useable form after the weekend. I know how your parents feel. :(

Wedding was September 3rd. Ophelia's wrath led to us having to change Honeymoon plans.

My parents spent all night last night and most of this morning moving items from the first floor to the second floor in hopes of saving them. My dad had to shut down his plant this afternoon and then off to higher ground he went.

That sucks man. At least it wasn't this weekend I guess. I feel for your parents. My uncle, aunt, and two cousins had to evacuate, and they've got 3 dogs and a nice house. I dunno if they took the dogs or not. One can only hope that it slows down before landfall.

My parents only have one pet and it was left behind. The bird should be fine though. She is on the second floor away from all windows.

OUCH....I sure hope the bird and the house will be alright. I used to live 5 miles from Seabrook and remember preparing for a hurricane in the area back in 1970 or so, I think it was Celia but it did not hit the area hard.
