Inside job?

You need a large truck to haul away that many tires and wheels. Let alone the time to do it by hand would take forever.

To play devils advocate, a cordless impact gun would make short work of that, and they're not too expensive.

What confuses me is that the perpetrators didn't mind stealing tens of thousands of dollars in wheels and tires, but cared enough to put the cars back down on blocks to prevent damage to the brakes. 😕

Maybe it was an inside job.

quicker to do that and get your jack back than it is to do anything else.

True enough. Plus, if you were caught, you didn't damage property (35 cars) as well as theft. At least around here, you will get a lot less heat from the police for 'polite' crimes where you break into cars/houses and steal things but don't bust windows, break-down doors, etc. Once you start smashing windows to grab stereos and the like, there is a huge task force hunting you down.

I saw this over memorial day weekend at a local Chrysler dealership back 3-4 years. I walked my dog past there on the way to a park almost every day and all of sudden noticed 5-6 cars on blocks early Memorial day. Called the cops...the dealership had no idea (all dealerships are closed on Sundays in MN). They were pretty pissed, but the manager was less displeased because he could throw new wheels on them after a quick inspection because they were not damaged. :/

Key nuts anybody?

Apparently those shatter if you spray them with liquid nitrogen then hit them with a hammer.

When I lost my nut key, I bought a replacement from the dealership. If you happened to own a complete set of keys used for the ones on GM vehicles, you could use that instead. Of the ones used on Honda vehicles, I think there were about 12 different types.

Good point. I guess the little wooden blocks are cheaper and lighter than the classic cinder block too.
CSI Miami is going to identify the saw and saw blade used to cut the blocks, the lumber store that sold the wood, and "cut" the thieves off at the knees!

YEAHHHHHHHH!
