Thief: The dark project Gold and Win XP!!!!!!

Has anyone tried to play theif gold under Win xp?
I installed the game itself fine, however, EAX does
not enable for me (I have an SB Live Value). I tried
to install the patch for Theif The dark project, but
when I click on the exe, it says it can't find the directory
that the game is installed in. I put the exe file in the main Thief
directory and it didn't work. I also put it in C:, no luck.
Has anyone installed the patch with this?????

it works i was playing it yesterday. EAX wouldn't work though i didn't patch btw

yea, I can get the game to work fine. you need to install the patch to get EAX
to work. I want to know how to get the patch file to install. Still not having
any luck. I tried all the compatiblity modes too......

Also tried installing it in a command prompt...no go.
