I just got these 2 games last night but I can't get them to run in Vista 64 bit.

Thief crashes and says the program stopped working.
Sherlock Holmes looks like it's about to launch but then nothing happens. The game .exe is running in task manager though.

I've tried XP compatibility, run as admin, diable visual themes, disable desktop composition, set the game directories to full control for everyone, and added both .exes to the DEP exclusion list.

anyone get these games running on vista and how did you do it?

I am running Thief DS under Vista 32 using XP SP2 compatibility and Run as Administrator box checked. Works fine for me but you need to also need to tinker with the configuration to get the widescreen resolutions working properly (see Widescreen Gaming Forum for details).

Not sure if this will work also for Vista 64.

Hope this helps ...

Is that the newest one or the first one? I know with the old ones you need to set CPU Affinity.

I believe that is the 3rd Thief game. I'll give that a try anyway though.

oh wait, how do you set cpu affinity before the game is started?
