Thief 3 Deadly Shadows...and Dual Core problems

I had a thread on here about scary games..and thief3 kept coming up...so i decided to try it out...i buy it install it and run it...

the opening movie keeps coming on super fast...and i cannot use the menu x.x

so i check to see if anyone else had this problem and i find that..

hyperthreading and dual core cpu's get this glitch...so they say just set the affinity and youll be fine.

well the problem is...i cannot set the affinity...when i alt tab out of the program...it clicks right back into the program. i alt tab and cntrl alt delete real fast....and try to alt tab into that to set the affinity and it just forbids it by bringing me back into the gitching game..before i can click set affinity at all.


any ideas? is there a way to set affinity before a program is opened?
 
; ; doesnt work for this...and i cant take the game back -.-; i saw a different fix elsewhere but i dont like screwing with system dll files ect
if the system doesnt boot for some reason its not worth it.
