The latency has to go up; RAM can't handle DDR2 speeds at such low latency.

What do the two red bars stand for? One is the Alderwood, 512 DDR2 (single channel), 2.8GHz P4E and the other is what exactly? I thought they said they only had one DDR2 module. I assume the two blue bars for that same processor is their Prescott dual and single channel RAM setups.

And upgrading to a Prescott doesn't seem all that bad of an idea since it doesn't seem that the Alderwood will be much (if any) faster. The only reason I am interested in it is its added perks.

All I know, is that I am not impressed. Maybe its very early and a preview, but thats horrible. I will stick with DDR for now.

Who cares about the benchmarks? The point of the article was to cover all the new technologies in the upcoming chipsets, which to some of us is interesting, as it is the biggest revision to the standard PC in years.

It looks like the ich6 will support 1 - x16 & 4 - x1 connections, is this the best they can do ?

X16 - 8GB/s in duplex & X1 - 512MB/s in duplex Why would they not provide better throughput for raid systems ??

I mean pci-x 133 provides 1066MB/s , it looks like if you want a better I/O sub system then you'll still have to use a server mobo.

I hope some mobo manf. provide X2 connections.

Regards,
Jose

Jose, the word on the street is that x4 will be seen on a lot of server boards.
