...and they woke me up making a racket. What time can they legally start making noise?

Do you live in NYC?
No, I live in NJ now.
Oh, I was going to say call 311.

Anyways, I think that's too early as well. I know the building they're uh...building down the street from me, construction starts at 7am.

When I used to work landscape/maintenance, 7:00 was as early as we could start and this was in a tourist / beach area.

My guess is they are legal but annoying.

you need to make some phone calls.

unreal... but I guess they gotta get their work done. 6 is too early. You better hope it's way after that on a weekend. I get pissed if someone does anything before 10am on a weekend, but I don't know what the legal hour is.

i once took a great big dump in a not-yet-plumbed tub on the second floor of a house they were building next door to me. the workers were annoying and arrogant a$$holes. The sterotypical construction workers.

If i complained then im sure they would have just purposely make twice as much noise at 7am.

Hey when annoyed do what a Monkey would do right? What's even more disturbing is that you are so proud of it that you would post about it for everyone else to see what a spooge you are.

I seriously doubt that Presence would lower himself down to your level.

Definitely call your local city hall or police department and ask. THen if they continue to do it make sure they are reprimanded.

That gets touchy. I don't want to fight with my new neighbors before they even move in! If it continues I will have to do something though.

You do'nt need to confront them, you just call city hall/Police and tell them what's going on and they will have someone tlak to the builders. And unless your neighbors are building their own house, They wouldn't probably even know since it's just the builders that are there making all the noise.

Yeah definitely call the buidling department. Why should the owners get upset? It's the contractors that are doing the work.

The building department in my town is like the secret police. They are out everywhere looking for illegal construction. I was told that just replacing toilet requires a permit. One time, I didn't cut the grass for a while (it wasn't too bad) and they gave me a summons stating it need to be cut by the next day or else I have to go to court. I got home at 7PM and cut it right then.
