Washed my wallet, and a check I had is now in a million bits and pieces.

Doesn't help that the check was for a couple hundred dollars and I needed to cash it today  In other news - my Quiznos loyalty card survived, and everything else that I don't care about made it too.

No, they should make checks ILLEGAL

EDIT: I see it was a check written to you. I guess that's OK. I just wish stores wouldn't take checks. Was at Menards yesterday and some idiot is blabbing on his cell phone as he's checking out. Then he has to walk over, find his check book, find a blank check, find his pen (still blabbing on the cell phone), writes half the check down, keeps blabbing...

I walked to a different register and checked out and was long gone before he ever got his check even written out. I wanted to yell "Less Talking, More Writing" but didn't. Even the cashier that was waiting for him was rolling her eyes...

Checks have outlived their usefulness. I would gladly shop somewhere if they have a No Check policy. Using a Check CARD or a Credit Card is so much faster and more convenient anyway....

Eh - I'v enever had much of a problem with people writing checks - an experienced check writer can dish one out in seconds :p It's always the select few who can't write worth sh!t who dick it up for everyone else :p

The most aggravating thing for me is when I'm delivering pizza, and people don't already have the check written out when I get to the door.
