they have alot of specialized stations (hard rock, classic rock, etc.) but only 1 decent station that plays a mix, and that's squizz. they're programming on saturdays rocks, but it's pretty bland during my morning drives to work. i'm actually listening to shoutcast (station: energy radio) and it's awesome. xm should just stream some of shoutcast's lineups.

what xm stations do you guys listen to? i'm particularly interested about siruis' programming.

I totally agree, and it's one of the reason I won't be renewing my subscription.

Take a look at my sig ;)

I've has Sirius for a year...I tried XM for a couple of weeks, and I just couldn't get into it. Squizz w/ Grant Random was good, but I couldn't find much else.

Sirius has 4 channels I really like (Octane, Alt Nation, Hard Attack, Faction, and hopefully Shade 45).

Check out the free 3-day streaming on the Sirius' Website.

Squizz, the Boneyard & Ethel get it done just fine IMO, then you have Top Tracks for classic rock, XM Liquid Metal for metal, Lucy plays sweet alternitive, Deep Tracks plays more classic rock, and now we have fungus for punk

what are you missing?

errr damnit, i was actually gonna go w/ sirius when i was in the market, but there's no head unit for my car (custom head unit) and i wanted a complete stealth design. the only player small enough to fit in my ash tray (so that i could hide it when not in use) was the xm commander. i'm paying monthly for my xm service, but the only problem is the hardware. i spent close to $300 for the xm commander + installation. bleh.

they have great stations for each sub-genre. but i like listening to a mix, and don't want to be switching around. i've had shoutcast's stream on for close to 2 hours and i've enjoyed every single track thus far. i can't say the same for squizz, which is pretty sad considering that i pay for xm and shoutcast is 100% free.

Same thing here, actually. Squizz is the only station I listen to (other than ACC football games).

They really really need to get remove the Scott Stapp and Alter Bridge crap from their rotation, though.
