It basically links the two movies together / provides insight as to how 1 got to 2.

I hate you. I was looking forward to seeing details about a new movie instead of an anime flick.

Oh well, really liked both so will probably see it anyways.

Damn you, I was hoping you weren't referring to Dark Fury when I saw this thread.

I'd love to see another Riddick movie, don't know how they'd come up with something as him *SPOILER* being the new Lord Marshall */SPOILER*, so if it's a prequel to Pitch Black that would be cool.

BTW, Escape from Butcher's Bay (XBox) is at GoGamer for $4.90.
And it's really good.

For newer nvidia cards you need to install a patch for it, because the unpatched game expects only OpenGL 1.x not 2.x.

Got it free with an MSI graphics card (actually, roommate did, gave it to me).

Fantastic game. I love the melee kills where you use the opponent's weapon to end them.

Ugh, thanks for getting me all excited for nothing. Yes there was a Riddick anime, and yes people are asking David Twohy on a daily basis to do another movie based on Riddick. Keeping my fingers crossed, the last one rocked more then Pitch Black IMHO.

Butcher Bay was a pretty good game on the PC too, I suggest fans of the series try it out.

vin diesel should produce another one, he is making games so why not make another one maybe after his fat check from another fast and furious ...i really like both movies, 2nd one is great and nice cast i think if the story was really good iam sure we would love to know what happened to him as a leader on necros :)

Don't expect a sequel, I think the story went as far as it could go after he offed the Lord Marshall. If anything, expect a prequel to Pitch Black. I know prequels are generally frowned upon these days, but just think what they could do with showing how Riddick became the badass he was in the other movies, not to mention the highly anticipated scene of him getting his eyeshine surgery done for a pack of cigs. Damn, just thinking about it gets me excited, c'mon Twohy get on the ball with this!

Wow, I'm surprised that ATOT seems to like it (it is Vin Diesel after all). Pitch Black was pretty good, and the game was good, but I hated how they took it from solid horror action to some psuedo-epic sci-fi thing in the movies. They put a lot of work into the 2nd movie (non-animated that is), but I just sat there feeling like it was wasted on such a silly story.

Butcher Bay was an excellent game! Not only did it have some of the best graphics on the original Xbox (about on the level of Doom 3), but the gameplay was really fun. It's not simply a run-n-gun shooter like Doom 3. In fact, there are large portions of the game where you have no guns at all and have to use things like screwdrivers and shivs. It incorporates sneaking, stealthy kills, puzzle solving, and some RPG elements.

I've seen and liked both Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick. Never seen the elusive third movie. However, I've seen it on imdb and as a trilogy package at HMV.

play the game, it has additional story elements not present in the movies. i bought the game on fs/ft but never finished it. now that i've seen the movies, i'm gonna go back and play it and i think its gonna be even better knowing some of the story components behind the game.
