They found the missing mom in Oregon.

It's a shame when 2 beautiful children isn't enough cause to keep living. I can only think she wasn't in her right mind.
 
As to questions surrounding her final known purchases, a Gatorade, trail mix, and sleeping aids, her husband said they were not a cause for alarm - the sports drink was because it was a hot day, the trail mix was something they had in the house often, and the pills could be attributed to a headache she'd been suffering from for three days.

Maybe she kept an inoperable brain tumor a secret from her family and thought that this was the best way to go out without bankrupting them with medical bills and legal issues.
 
Call me an ass if you want but why is this news? People go missing daily. People die daily. People commit suicide daily. Why is this one woman noteworthy?

And yes, I've lost friends and family (11 in 2012 alone) so I'm not heartless.

I'm a Caucasian male and I will tell you why, because she's white.

There were probably half a dozen or more similar tragedies in the same reporting period, but they weren't white or good looking enough to make advertising revenue off of for the media outlets.

Why is 9/10ths of the shit they portray as news, news?

Norm McDonald (yup...) has a pretty solid routine he does about 24 hour news and these types of stories in particular. Might be on YouTube, but I can't access from work (Google: Norm McDonald Janice).

Yes, that nails it. Media is always like that.
 
One has to remember "news" media in America is entirely entertainment. And no, it is not to that extent in other countries. You can just watch the English news of British and German news channels to know that.
 
Also remember that the media plays to their audience. Despite what the media likes you to believe, the majority of this country is still Caucasian, thus, those viewers will identify with and traffic in the story that they most relate to.

According to last Census numbers, 77.7% of this country identified itself as "White, alone" as in not of mixed race (not as in most of ATOT are white and alone because they live in their parent's basement).

There has to be more to this than a 3 day headache. I suspect they are withholding details for the sake of the children, which is fine.

Not for long. The media won't allow it. They'll rummage through trash, pay medical people under the table, etc., until they get their story (and their piles of advertising cash).

PS - I fully expect that mad cow Nancy Grace to get involved somehow and demean the husband and family publicly for ratings.
