They don't make the (older) LEGO games for PS4?!

Man I just bought my son a PS4 for Christmas, and I guess presumptuously assumed that the older LEGO games like Star Wars and Harry Potter etc would be available. That kind of blows.

I'd go the Xbox 1 route and backward compatibility, but there's no baseball games on PS4.

Guess we can't have our cake and eat it too, huh?

Nope, hopefully for you Sony goes the Microsoft route with backwards compatibility.

Yeah. I'm actually quite amazed that they haven't re-released them for the current gen consoles. Those were pretty popular games! Guess I better hold onto our 360 then, or at worst, get the games on the PC.

Did you mean no baseball games on xbox 1? There's MLB The Show on PS4.

Ooops yeah. that's exactly what I meant, and pretty much the whole reason we wen the PS4 route. :)

don't worry, i'm sure there will be an HD remastered collection in the near future. that's the new way of game development on the current consoles.

Their focus is on Lego Dimensions now. It's a similar style game, yet instead of releasing individual games for each license they're treating them almost as DLC. The way I understand it, you have to buy a physical toy (similar to skylanders) to unlock that character and the part of the game built for that character. Seems pretty well regarded, biggest issue is that they've found a way to squeeze more money out of you.

I'd be PERFECTLY fine with that. I just want to play some of the earlier LEGO game IP again (Star Wars, HP etc)

That ain't happening. That's not the fun I'm looking for, and honestly I think is a mistake. I knew/know lots of adults that played the LEGO games as a fun/casual game, and nobody is going to bother with collecting figures and shit like that.

Possibly, but if they get even a portion of the money that Skylanders is making it'll well worth it to them... even if that means us older gamers get left out in the cold :\

Lego Star Wars and Lego Indiana Jones are the best Lego games. Shame we're getting terrible Lego games nowadays, that are lazily made. Literally, Lego Avengers has the same map as Lego Marvel.

FYI, it seems some of these older LEGO games are on PlayStation Now including the HP series, but not the SW series. I tried a free trial and it works great, but $12.99 per month (or $99 for 12 months)? Forget it. That's ridiculous.

Why can't they just let me buy the game(s) I want outright for $20?!!?

I went and bought them on Steam for $5 and will do it that way I guess. Sale lost Sony.
