it looks like an intelimouse to me except for the buttons. This is prolly a photo of a prototype, i doubt anyone would bother photoshopping and a picture of a mouse.....

No, that's a Microsoft mouse. I've purchased a number of them. The OEM version is usually around $20 if purchased with hardware, etc.

As mentioned it is the wireless form-factor with a cord... dunno who's responsible for the photo... but none of the corded intellimice look like that. They should though! I have the Bluetooth Intellimouse with that style and I love it... that thumb-indent is comfy!

hmmmm, I guess you are right. My mouse has a button for the thumb and pinky, as well as the regular 2 buttons and mouse wheel button. Wait, that's five right . Is the mouse pictured on the amazon link a 6 button mouse, or does the mouse wheel button not count anymore?

I have two optical mice (both MS) plugged in, and THAT one isn't even lit up right now....and this has been happening for some time now!

It's a Intellimouse explorer 3.0

That sure looks a lot more like the Wireless Explorer than the regular Explorer

I have both. It looks just like my 3.0 wired mouse.
The overall shape of the wireless one is MUCH different.

You guys need to go out more That mouse (wireless version) is on display all over in every computer store (or used to at least...) Nothing weird about it except theres a cord to the picture.

Look...I just went to all the trouble of installing my scanner, Photo shop, scanning those pics, and uploading them.

Wired Intellimouse Explorer (version 3.0)

See how they are different? The wired version doesn't have the "thumb indent". The pic at amazon shows the wireless version of the mouse with a "cord" coming out of it, but no such mouse exists to my knowledge.
