They can't enhance images in real life like they do on "Las Vegas," right?

Zoom in on the corner or her eye.. The eye fluid will reflect back the person taking the picture.. Wait a second, what is that in the reflection? A porthole...... like on a boat?

WTF

I saw that episode. WTF, did they take the picture with the hubble space telescope? Because when take a regular picture and blow it up...it just doubles or averages the pixels. The result is: A picture that almost as god damn crappy as the original...only bigger!

But on this show they're reflecting off wet snot and reading people's tax returns on their desk.

I know its just a show but come on.

I've been wondering the same thing. They do this on a lot of shows.. It kinda pisses me off, lol.

It would be freaking awesome if you could do that with say, blurry pics.

I think she's engaged to Bobcat Goldthwait

Really? They worked together on "Unhappily Ever After," but she was just a late teenager then...

Yep, she's engaged to that lucky freak...and the show is over the top, sure...but it's entertaining, usually. I haven't decided if it's actually a good show or it's propped up by the incredibly good looking women.

I remember watching some movie with a guy in a fashion shop, and he had something important in a bag he was carrying. Anyway, later on when people were examining the footage taken from a STATIONARY CC security camera, the 'detectives' had the 'av geek' render what was on the exact opposite side of the position where the camera was. Keeping in mind there was only one camera and it never moved, and even after they made this new POV out of thin-air, they even zoomed in 34293 times and went from pure grain to a friggin' macro-mode of the bag he was holding.

That was when I shut the movie off.

That would have been Enemy of the State... Decent movie, the technical aspects were typical Hollywood though :(

Ah yes, that's what it was. I did end up watching the entire movie a couple weeks later when a friend rented it. Must've been right after it came out on VHS.

I saw in a movie (Enemy of the State, I think) how they enhanced a digital movie taken with a consumer camera so that a pixel (or 10 pixels or whatever) were "Enhanced" until the face of a man wearing glasses appeared. Come on! How were they able to generate the glasses and - even more - correctly identify their shape starting from a pixel? (BTW, that was made by the one who made the recording, using a Apple Mac something, not a super-duper image analysis workstation) (and by the way, the enhancing took no more than 15 seconds)

I can never believe they continue to pull that sh!t in movies. It's retarded. I haven't seen the TV show you're talking about but I've seen them do it in plenty of movies.

i hate it when they do that. it's still used everywhere. pulling information out of nothing... yeah right.

The scene in Blade Runner (my favorite movie, BTW) bugs me. How the heck did he turn the corner in that image?

To be fair it IS the future. ;)

I also laugh at the way computers on a T.V. show or movie always make noise. Everytime the screen changes, "beep", everytime a window resizes, "deedeedeedeedee", everytime a load status bar is onscreen, "pffvvvvvwwwttttttttttt". Real computers don't make all that goddamn noise!

Oh, and all the screens are touch-screens on "Hollywood Computers" as well.... LOL!

Enhance. Enhance. Enhance.

Just print the damn thing out!!!!
:D

LOL... I was doing that in class one day and got the strangest of looks. An hour later, I had gone and rented the damn movie and we spent the rest of class watching it. I love tightly knit college classes.
