Imho,

This may indeed improve the quality of PC titles that are multi-platform based on breaking the chains of restrictions and limitations of older console graphic hardware and developers trying to garner more efficiency with x86!

With developers having more robust console graphic hardware, inclusion of x86, more potential PC customers, more PC revenue potential, digital download potential, flexible business models, continued help with technology companies like AMD and nVidia -- PC Gaming may continue to grow and improve.

I haven't used a console since my SNES, other than about 2 hrs total play time on the gamecube I bought a decade ago. That is, until my wife bought me a wii-U 2 wks ago. Here's a list of some of my pros/cons for it:

We are really happy with the Wii U as well - my wife and I have been actually playing games again because of it.

It has the potential to be an evolutionary step in graphics compared to PS3/360, which is good enough for me. Just the extra ram should allow for some better textures than the muddy mess those other consoles support - for optimized games.

The Wii U will need a larger install base to really be relevant - but Kart and Super Smash Bros and other standby's are coming soon. If you wanted a smaller investment into AAA title (less graphics required, etc.) and to be competing against fewer titles, the Wii U may yet get some love. We'll see how the Wonderful 101 sells - this should be a good test for third party viability on the Wii U.
