Our Strategy is simple. This movement is a fad. Some of their ideas include the belief that programs like Social Security and Medicare are socialistic and should never have been created in the first place and that President Obama is a Socialist. Other ideas include undermining the legitimacy of the federal government in favor of a radical rightwing form of state’s rights. We need to prevent their dangerous ideas from gaining a legislative foothold. So our strategy is to spread the truth about their dangerous ideas and prevent their policies from taking root in America.

Good article on the origins of this website, really interesting stuff. I never really took the whole tea party movement seriously, but I also would never say I thought the ideas of smaller government are dangerous. This site, just the look and feel of it, gives me a very uncomfortable feeling. The fact that unions and others are willing to put some much time, money and energy into squashing the whole tea party movement. If the progressives are this worried then maybe I should take them more seriously.

I'm going to go ahead and guess that whoever wrote that has never read the constitution or bill of rights.
We live in a constitutional republic, but it seems a lot of people don't understand that.

Yes you should. They are so very scared of The People waking up and the tremendous movement going on right now. But people are wide awake now.

The People put an unknown conservative to a MASS senate seat. Anything is possible to take back this country. I heard my first senate primary ad this evening for KY Senator - the keys were "Anger at washington and what they are doing, unending spending, spending money to protect terrorists, unemployment at record highs"

Anger is the most powerful emotion, it even overcomes jealousy which is played constantly by the White House. Anger is what forces one to act. The People are going to act alright. See you in November.

This. Site isn't worth the megabytes it occupies.

Are they lying, like the Swiftboaters were? What's a Shenigans?

Hell yes they are lieing. (dammit, I can never spell that word correctly).

"rightwing notion" of states right's isn't a right wing notion. It's the fucking Constitution. That whole "United STATES of America". Greenman already nailed it.

How is that a Lie? Seems to be a Rightwing notion.

edit: I suppose to be more accurate: The Rightwing certainly has a notion concerning the States Rights issue.

Constitution fucker, have you read it?

Intelligence fucker, have you got it?

rhetorical question, no need to answer as everyone knows the answer already.

BTW, I clarified the point a bit in previous post.

You mean like the patriot act? The patriot act that has been extended under the guise of the jobs bill? Surely you don't mean that patriot act.

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0210/32744.html

A draft of the roughly $80 billion bill, obtained by POLITICO, has a wide range of tax credits and job creation ideas, but it also includes provisions unrelated to jobs, including a reauthorization of the Patriot Act

It's hard to take the TEA Party seriously when they paid an airhead MILF $100K to speak at their convention. :D

Seems to me a smart fiscal decision. I bet her speaking brought it more to the party/movement than the 100k she cost them. Not that liberals would understand such a thing. If liberals were running the Tea Parties they would have paid her $100k and lost 10 million dollars due to unions, cost overuns, waste. But they would have called it a 'Jobs Party' and said it was necessary to lose money because of Booooosh!

That's because you're not smart

I love all of this collectivist talk, like it's some united movement. "The People" - ohh I get it comrade.

The truth is there are dozens of subfactions within the Baggers, each with their own agenda.

It's all taxes are too high, spending is out of control, and keep your hands off my Medicare. Too bad there's not a recipe to be found for actually doing anything, simple slogans haven't fixed any real problems lately.
