I just found out that on my english exam tomorrow morning we will have to write a thesis / anti-thesis paper.

I know in a thesis you argue one side of something and an anti thesis you argue for the opposite side of the story.

How does this all work out and what is the format? It only has to be about 500 words...

Honestly, if you don't know by now, you're screwed. The thing I found with English is that no matter how creative the teachers/profs say they want you to be, what they really want is for you to regurgitate everything they say in the exact same format that they gave it to you. My essays in grade 11 were given 70% scores because my teacher didn't like the format I learned in grade 10. The same thing happened in grade 12. You just have to find out what the teacher wants and give it to them.

I've never written one before so I don't know the format. I would however pick something you are very familiar with. It would be great if you could pick a subject which you are torn on. That way you can truly argue each side without leaning toward one or the other.
