12-gauge electrical cord works great too, from my experience.

It's all about the diameter. If you need 14 gauge wire to carry your amp's current, then getting really expensive 14 gauge wire won't make it any better than cheap 14 gauge wire.

Only people who don't understand think that expensive wire helps.
