why am i getting such crap memory benchmark scores? i have an asus a7v133 with 256mb crucial cas2 pc133 memory. i upped my fsb, and 4 way interleve is on, and the memory is running fine at 153mhz, but my sandra scores suck. my int alu is 459 and my float fpu is 583. wtf is going on here? anyone else have these screwy readings?

yes i have. the only thing i can think of is that sandra doesnt like the asus for some reason. i currently have 2001se standard, but i am going to try another memory benchmark to see what i get.

CKY, I have the same motherboard. What memory timings and FSB are you using? When I set my memory timings to AUTO at 150MHz FSB, I get ~620/800.

What I don't get is that there are people actually buying a new SDR AMD board and SDR memory, even though they can get a DDR board and DDR RAM for only a few dollars more. Oh well, my A7M266 and 256MB PC2100 that I bought back in mid February is performing great at 133MHz FSB with 643/827 SiSoft Mem scores.

i would never buy any of the current ddr boards. until ddr can prove its worth i certainly will not shell out extra bucks for a less developed platform. you like the a7m, thats great. since i am not running 3dmark 2001 80 times a day i would rather have stability. i dunno why...call me sane.

An extra $15 isn't too much more to turn those sorry Sandra memory benchmark scores around. My AMD 761 chipset based A7M266 is much more stable than my A7V133 ever was. A lot of people will agree that the AMD 761 is a solid chipset.

Also, you might want to try stability testing your A7V133. Not many A7V133s run at 150+ FSB stable. When I had mine, I could run my memory at 160MHz, but had to use the +PCI option with a 120MHz bus. If I tried 150MHz bus I would get Prime95 rounding errors.

there is a bios setting in the same place you set fsb that has the option 'normal' and 'optimal' set it to optimal. you have goofed somewhere, i have an A7V133 and when i have run it at 150fsb i get around 620/730.

i do have the bios settings to 'optimal' enabling 4-way interleve. i think that most ppl here are getting good scores with their memory because they have closed the bridges on their athlons. mine are still open, so setting memory to pc100 and bumping the fsb to 145-150 isnt a possibility. i have the memory set to pc133 with the fsb bumped to 115-120 which makes the ram run at around 150. so, until i am able to decrease the multiplier, i am guessing that my memory scores will remain mediocre.
as for the ddr boards, its just not the direction i wanted to take. this being my first build, i wanted the more established chipset. i am sure that i will upgrade to ddr some day, but i havent seen any great increase in game fps, which is what i am mainly interested in =)
