These people give their religion a bad name

I don't get these folks. This preacher guy comes in raving about the day of wrath that is coming etc etc, sets up camp next to the nice little Hari Krishna guys tapping away at their drums. He starts ragging on the nice little dudes and insulting students as they pass by. This is a public University, but show a little respect and tact. He gives Christians a bad name. It's fine if you want to come in and start telling some stories; stragglers can walk in and listen and leave at will, but don't walking around the courtyard and insult passerbys, we don't want to hear the ignorant crap you're spilling. I feel sorry for his wife, child, and assistant who are standing by. He's going to get an orange to the face just like brother jeb does every year when he keeps insulting the GLBTs and the other religions. I say he deserves it too. Come on they are Hari Krishna's what did they do to you? Mind your own business and you'll get way more bites.

Does it say you must be an @$$ and convert everyone to Christianity in the Bible some where?

I believe in science, because it never disses people unless they are factually incorrect.

Is there anyway we can make it so these jerks can't impose themselves upon us college students on our own campus?

Man, I know what you're talking about. I remember this one guy setting up shop near the food/bookstore/fun center and yelling as loud as a mofo on how religion this, religion that, blah blah.

You want to preach your religion? Great, by all means go for it. Just don't solicite people publicly. I'm not sure how else you would be able to preach, but its become all too common for me to hope that some jock clotheslines those fanatics. 😛

You could tell him to STFU and explain the harm he's doing to his own cause.
But it wouldn't change anything. He'd probably just lump you in with "the enemy."

This is common in every major campuses.

At the UW in Seattle, the popular spot is the "Red Square", a large open court where students like to hangout between classes, lounge around on stairsteps enjoying lunch, and etc. It doesn't take too long until some nutcase, carrying a large wooden cross in one hand and a bible in another, come waltzing by and spew "Fire and Brimstone" at the "sinful" masses. The truely sad part is seeing his young children who accompany him carrying hateful signs. I just shake my head knowing that these children (who are most likely home schooled) will some day take their fathers place.

We had a guy who attempted to use logic to prove that self-gratification was wrong. It went something like this... I grew up in the south, and I never did it there, therefore you are committing a sin against nature if YOU do it. Ever since then I have used the phrase "preacher logic" to refer to someone who tries to argue something using miserable attempts at logic.

We had those guys at our campus, complete with the "god hates fags" signs. As I walked by one day, I couldn't help but start laughing my ass off at them. Well, the ~50 people watching the spectacle finally burst into laughter too. Everyone was pointing and laughing, it was truly great.

It sounds like a thing of beauty.

Beat the snot out of him in front of his kid. Then say that the lord told you to do it.
That'll shut him up.

It truly was.

These things are common at every major public university across the country. It's not actually about fire and brimstone so much as it is about money, in that they go to campuses with the specific purpose of infuriating the student body into assaulting them or causing the university to kick them off campus. This gives them opportunity to sue the university and quietly settle out of court in exchange for keeping quiet/agreeing not to come back.

It's extortion while hiding under the veil of our legal system and the First Amendment. As an attorney, frankly it makes me sick.

I'd rather be lumped in with "the enemy" than with an ignorant intolerant fvckwad like that.

LOL awesome

I'm curious...if God hates fags, and according to them God created all of us, why is He creating things He hates?

😕

God has some inadequacy issues. It stems from some things his dad did to him during his childhood.

There is more truth to this than one might laugh off at first.

Yahweh aka Elohim has issues steming from the creation.

Well, sure, I'm just saying that nothing is likely to change the guy's viewpoint or behavior.
