Have just cut the 3rd lvl 5 bridge, used conductive pen to set the multiplier to 17x then plugged a pair into my k7d-l. And the result is 2.55 ghz @ 1.75v! will run some tests when I get a chance. Temps on my rig are around the 40-45c at the moment.

mine are k7d 2 x 2500+ at 2 x 2.55, geforce 3 (its a work machine/f@home cruncher) and an adaptec 29160 64bit scsi card with 15k 18gb scsi drive, its pretty nippy!

Sweet temps mingon! Think my k7d reads high. I just got my 1700 tbred Bs to 2400+ and they hit around 65C on full load and 55 on idle. It wasn't a whole lot better before and I have SLK800s on them so I think its just the sensor. Do you get a big temp differential between your two chips?

My other machine has the older 2500+'s that I used, with 2 x aero 7+ heatsinks I get 58-60c. So the drop is really good to see.

My 2400M arrived today.. IQYHA 0346 from NewEgg

It booted W2K at 12 x 215.5 no sweat, but failed benchies...

Now at 11.5 x 217.2 = 2497 (aaaah wtf ... 2.5ghz )

Still need more time on P95, but no errors for an hour so far...
I'm pumping more voltage than I like thou ...
,,, but,,, I'm beginning to think I dont need it either...

I will post my final results tomorrow.

these mobiles are sweet....will have to upgrade the mobo tho. my a7n8x rev1.04 can only do 185MHz FSB.

do you have to do any mods to the chip to change the multiplier? I've got an old KT266A KR7A mobo and I can't really do much over 133MHz fsb, would love to just mess with the multiplier and wait before I get a nice new mobo, recently plopped down a good $2000 on a laptop and I'm not wanting to go all out and invest in all new guts for my desktop, even if it is only $300-400, spending $100 on a cpu is acceptable...

The chip allowed adjustments within the bios of up 12.5 to get my desired 17x I used a conductive pen on the rear of the chip pins ( I dont trust small wire in my case). I am currently running 17*138 at 1.725v (probably needs less) I am restricted from pushing it for to long as the PCI bus reaches 38mhz, which means my 64bit 66mhz scsi crd is running at 76mhz which is quite a bit out of spec. I might re-do the multipliers to 18x if I can be bothered.
