boxing is worse because its repeated blows to the head. and yes, they can get multiple concussions in one fight too.

mma wears on the body more, but that saves your brain a little. getting knocked out like these guys are isnt good of course, but studies are showing its not as bad as repeated hits to the head. thats why the nfl is under so much scrutiny right now, because the game is inherently a lot more dangerous then it seems.

It is ironic that there is shock being expressed at how brutal the KO was. While spin hook kick KOs are relatively new to top tier MMA, they have been happening for decades in kickboxing, full contact karate, Sanshou, TKD, etc. As more and more practitioners from systems with these prolific techniques continue to migrate to MMA, it will become more commonplace.

A fighter tried to replicate the results the other night. But, he did not use it correctly, situationally speaking. Just spamming it aggressively is a poor substitute for proper setup and execution.

Uriah Hall showed true sportsmanship as well. Many props for that as well as the well executed KO

honestly that knockout #1 wasn't nearly as bad as some of the early UFC videos, or even early 00 pride videos.
