Thank god I switched to Pale Moon

anyone else sick of seeing Firefox 24 Final released then next day, and every few days a new Beta released, seems like they are on steroids to catch up with Chrome's versions and it's NOT FUNNY

Firefox 25 Beta 10

Beta 10 FFS? what are they testing it to go to the moon? it's a freakin' browser for the love of god

I hear ya that is why I switched to chrome about a year ago after having lots of issues with adobe flash in firefox. Chrome has been perfect since and I don't think I will go back unless they get a huge performance increase.

Btw off-topic can you pm if you have the new 8.1 iso. Thanks :)

Firefox sucks as usual. Not only do they have so frequent updates but they crash easily. It happens at least once everyday.

Chrome sucks too because it has compatibility issues for work use / production environment.

I never had issues with Firefox in OS X Lion..... Just goes to show how superior the Mac OS X is eeeehehhehehehehehehe

Why are you complaining that a beta is moving fast? Why weren't you complaining when Chrome first started out with the fast updates?

because even with the Betas, you don't see a post about a new Beta every day, and because it works

PS: I hate chrome's interface so I can never use it, and it doesn't have WYIWYG editor for forums so it's a big no no for me

even shortcuts like CTRL + B dont work on a forum to make text bold for example

Pale Moon FTW = Firefox + speed + stability + same security

I'm on the stable builds of Firefox so it only updates once a month (the rate of the major point releases) but Pale Moon does look like a nice derivative though.

That's the nice thing about open source =)

Same here.

I like when beta moves fast.

I still love FX, No BETA for me, so no issues. I uninstalled everything Google including Chrome like 18 mos ago when their privacy violation level reached critical mass. I was starting to get a billion tracking cookies, when before, I might get 10. How that did not creep everyone out, I do not know.

I now use IXQUICK search engine......does not track you, does not invade privacy, no marketing diagnostics..... and just as good as Google, forget free of GLUT.

And, I happen to know, Neo's default browser is FX.():)

You could switch to the stable channel if you think that beta updates too fast.

Or you could just ignore the updates. I run Nightly (because it's available as 64-bit and is the only browser in existence that doesn't implode with a couple thousand tabs open--yes, I'm a tab packrat), but I don't actually update every day and instead update only when I feel like it (which is closer to once every month or so). If I can ignore updates like that on the Nightly channel and still have a stable, reliable browsing experience, you shouldn't have any problems on the beta channel.

It's an all inclusive effort to break as many extensions as possible in as short a time as possible, and to send developers over the edge, falling off the firefox bandwagon. And it's working!

WYIWYG editor? Are you referring to WYCIWYG or WYSIWY or do I need to add a new acronym to my brain?

Yeah I don't understand WTF is up with all these updates, but TBH I find the browser works fine for me so I still use it, I just think it's silly more than it's annoying. Though if I was an extension dev it would really piss me off.

The versioning system has changed a while back such that extensions very rarely break between releases now.

Further evidence that the haters are just stupid. My stable version updates just as often as Chrome stable. [My] Extensions haven't broken since v4. It's also comparably fast and has greatly reduced its memory footprint back into the realm of sanity and [again] competitiveness.

When the argument is between Chrome, Firefox and derivatives of either, IT DOESN'T MATTER.

no not really. If i happen to use a beta browser I actually expect a lot of updates until the final is released otherwise it's hard to tell if they are doing a lot of testing. The regular channel doesn't update more than chrome or any other one that I've seen.

Just today, another beta, beta 11 NOW~!

Mozilla Firefox 25.0 Beta 11

sounds more like an alpha going through development stages

Pale Moon FTW, smokes Firefox any day in terms of speed and kept the old retro style not like now the new FF is trying to be Chrome

Betas can change at any time, and can change frequently. Release candidates are fairly locked, and don't get much in the way of changes. Alphas are proof of concept, and for trialing new technologies which may not make it into the final product.

Then why not just switch to the stable channel for FF? Seriously, you're on the beta channel and you're complaining about them releasing new betas.

oh no, that's the whole reason I switched to Pale Moon, far more stable releases but they keeup with the security updates

at the end of the day, all these Firefox updates bring nothing to the end user but headaches especially with AV plugins not working anymore due to the rapid updates, example: Kaspersky Internet Security addons never seem to catch up with FF's updates, not their fault, it's simply impossible to catch up this way ,it's a joke

Yes, you are complaining. If it were the release candidates then your point is valid. However, it's beta software so it's development can be faster.
