now I gotta waste my time tracking this crap down, 100 rebate off a compusa hdd, was during one of their 6pm - 12am sale which I bought one and I got the this product was not purchase within the requred date postcard..

no fricking way im losing 100 bucks to these ass wipes

i got my confirms on the rebates on that HD about a week ago. i personally have not had a problem with rebateshq, i'm happy when i see that they are the fulfillment house for a rebate.


but if your rebate was valid, and you made copies, give 'em hell.

This is why I'll almost always pay the extra $10-20 on a $250+ item to buy it from newegg with no rebate, it's not worth the stress of tracking these shady rebate semi-scams.

I fvcking hate rebates too...

On my Samsung S105 rebate for $50, I called them after the 8-week period... and they said "we have not received your rebate."

So, I started yelling and screaming and I said I wanted to file a complaint. I dunno why.. I just figured they had someone to yell at for me. So, they transferred me. Basically, he said he would look into my rebate.

Well.. he told me to fill out another rebate form and to send it certified mail - which made me even more pissed. Why should I spend $3 and make a special trip to the post office just to send a rebate? So, I just sent another one regular mail..

Anyway, I called back the very next day and they told me that everything was confirmed and they seemed to know nothing about the original 'lost' rebate. Argh..

Keep track of your rebates, people!! Never let them get off for free! I still feel guilt for a $50 rebate I never got from Diamond Multimedia for an 8mb Voodoo 2 card.. I'm not even gonna try to get it from Sonic Blue's bankrupt establishment..

Rebates suck, they mail them on these things that look like post cards instead of checks so they hope you'll toss it out with the rest of your junk mail... I almost tossed out a $30 rebate check I got back for my linksys cable modem that I totally forgot about.

Funny you guys mentioned rebates.. Just yesterday I cashed two rebate checks for a total of $110.00 Never mind the fact that I waited for them since December (Black Friday sales).

These guys are idiots. They sent me a card saying I did not purchase the correct memory from the OD deals back in Dec. I called them up and complained and they said there was nothing they could do and to send in the copies I had again. Well instead I went to OD and the CS rep just handed me the $25 +Tax. Two weeks later I recieved a $25 rebate check and I never even sent in the second set of documents.

i agree...rebates are the biggest scam this side of cutco knives. i absolutely HATE them.

only 1 good rebate experience = staples... fast as hell

I called them last month, missing >$250 worth of submissions, I had copies & delivery confirmations on all of them, they hate it when I call

RebatesHQ: "We haven't recieved your rebate submissions, sir."

Me: "That's sort of odd, I have copies of all of them, and the USPS web site says XXXX signed for the rebates on 2-3-03, what are you-all doing with these rebate submissions, roasting chickens in some voodoo ritual?"

RebatesHQ: "I'm sorry sir, if you'll resubmit them, you'll get your rebates in 8 weeks..."

Me: "Actually, you need to send them now, or I'll send everything to my state's Attny General's office... They like to prosecute this kind of crap."

RebatesHQ: "OK."

<--got all my rebates within 1 week
