EDIT: looks like i left everything on default besides a couple things in the settings. i put everything to the left, left the anti aliasing and anisotropic filtering on application preference, scored 17,982 at XT speeds in 3D Mark 2k1 SE , scored 5846 in 3D Mark 03, 412 core 730 memory. does that seem normal?

scored basically the same with no oc on the vid card:

17,274 3D Mark 2k1 SE
5834 3D Mark 2003

I'm going to keep it stock.

9800 XT + 3.0Ghz(233 Busx4) p4 = at least 18000 2001/and 5500 3d2003. Almost seems like a mobo bottleneck or you overclocked something a little to far. Your video card could be over heating.

yeah, thats what i was thinking, my scores should be higher. i ran the 2001 se at default speeds and it scored a 13,700+ range. oc'ed it to xt speeds, scored the 15,000+. no clue why its scoring 3k less then normal. nothings overheating that i know of, my system is running around 35c idle, about 55-60c MAX full load. any ideas anyone?

Surely you 2k3 is wrong. I have a 5900 with a 2700+ and 1GB of single channel PC2700 and I score 5123 on it.

hrmm, i wonder whats causing the low results...

besides the low results, i was wondering if flashing the 9800 pro bios to make it a " 9800 XT " was worth doing. right now its at XT speeds, im using RadLinker, but does flashing it increase performance compared to just ocing with RadLinker? I dont plan on going any high then XT speeds, 412 core, 730 memory.

I get 5781 at 2003 with a A64 3000+/MSI K8T Neo/512 PC 2700/9800Pro, everything at stock. Your scores look low to me.

Download CPU-Z, find out what your RAM frequency is running at.

Yeah, something seems wrong. Maybe flashing the bios messed the card up or something. Or something is wrong with your OC's. I get 58xx (seems to vary on the weather or solar flares or something , lol. But I know I have gotten 5810 and 5845) with a P4C 3gig with HT enabled and a 9800pro AIW. And everything is totally stock on my system. Its been awhile since I have run 2001 but it was 17k something I think.

Yep definitely wrong...I get 18000, 6000 in 01,03 respectively with my overclocked 9800np but my memory is only at 340, so yeah something is definitely wrong, although we all know how trustworthy these benchmarks are :)

i actually never flashed the bios yet, everythings stock bioswise, all i did was increase the core and memory to xt stock speeds. im leaving work right now, ill report back with an update on what i can find. hopefully its something easy.

It depends on the game. Also even after quite abit of time with my 9800pro AIW I am still sort of playing around with aa and af. In general for 1st person games I'll either set it at app preference or 6x 16x. In SW Galaxies I am now playing around with 4x 16x. In IL2 (I notice the biggest difference here by far) I play at 6x 16x. C&C Generals I do at 6x 16x as well. Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

That's better. Everybody benchmarks using the highest performance settings possible.

Like when I benchmark Ut2k3 on high performance I get 100 FPS in bot match. Then when I turn up the res and add 4x/4x with High Quality textures, it's more around 50-70 fps.

gotcha. seems like nothing was really wrong, just accidently left all the features on, high quality, AA and etc. so for a 3.0c, with a 9800 pro, 17-18k in 3dmark 2k1 se, 5-6k in 3dmark 03, on stock core/memory on the card, thats hopefully normal scores. when i checked people's scores on furture mark, people with my cpu specs and vid card are overclocking the crap out of their cards, i couldnt really find a score with a default core/memory on the card. im assuming without oc'ing the card, the scores i got are normal.
