I just bought a copper shim for my tbird but dont know where to put the thermistor to get the temp of my cpu. the a7v doesnt have a thermistor underneath the cpu which would be nice. when i put the thermistor on, the copper shim is not even anymore and is tilted, which makes the hsf not even w/ the cpu core. any suggestions as where to put the thermistor? anyone else have this trouble?

I suppose that you could always file a groove for the thermistor cable in the shim!
just a thought! :)

 Another option would to be to take the heatsink off remove the fan, drill through the heatsink next to the clip as close as possible to the center of the core, stick the thermistor in the hole atop the core and use high temp silicone or epoxy to seal it up. This method is slighty better than placing the thermistor next to the core, or go to AMD's site and find Techdoc#23794, this is AMD's recomended theristor positioning.
