Thermaltake vs Chieftec, which is the best value?

I am trying to decide which case to buy:

In this corner the Thermaltake Xaser III at $175 this thing is loaded. 7 case fans and a control panel.
Thermaltake

In this corner the Chieftec Dragon, nice design but no goodies. 2 case fans.
Cheiftec

Does anyone have the Thermaltake, I am only worried about the noise level with the 7 fans. Is the diffrence in the cases worth the cost diffrence? I am leaning towards the Thermaltake, I guess I am just looking for someone to tell me it is ok to spend the money. 😀 Thanks.

Go for Xaser ... ugly as motha, which makes so damn awesome =) Have a Xaser II black/red and I've loved it and modded it to death

The crazy number of case fans is unnecessary unless you're a crazy overclocker in which case your might as well go water cooling. I'd say the Cheiftec.

The noise level of 7 case fans is quite high, in my opinion. Too much for me to stand.

My idea was that with that many fans and the control panel I could turn down the fans to make them quieter, and still have enough cooling power. Are 7 fans on low quieter then 4 loud fans on high?

if u're a modding nut like myself, fans rule - I have 8 of them!!!

Also, they keep my case temp at room temperature. I control them using a fan speed controller

and have on/off switches for all of them + a master switch. Yes, it does get complicated 😀

I bought the blue Cheiftec you have linked a month or so ago and think it's the classier looking of the two. Drop me a PM if you do buy the Cheiftec and need help on hooking up the front ports to your mobo...if it supports them. The USB's are easy, but the FireWire port (the way the leads from the case are labeled) is much more confusing .

Really, for the price difference, you could buy a mobo, or at least 512 ram, or something else needed...other than that gawd aweful oogly Thermaltake 😉
