Thermaltake Volcano 9 CoolMod - Any good?

Has anyone tried the Volcano 9 CoolMod? I was attracted by the fan that changes colors when the hdd kicks on and off. But is that just a gimmick?

According to what Ive heard (not experienced), Thermaltake Volcanos have a tendancy to be a bit awkward to fit and tend to crush a few cores. My Volcano 7+ was simple and didnt crush my Core . The Volcano 9 is a pretty good cooler but I believe that the 7+ is superior due to its solid copper heatsink.
