Thermaltake V3 BlacX

Does anyone have the above-mentioned case? I haven't heard/read much of it, but I have one in a i7-3770 build and I'm pretty happy with it, especially since it's so cheap compared to pretty much everything else.

Just wondering where it'd stand when compared to other budget cases. Perhaps AT should review it.

Looks decent in terms of features. I've just read some bad things about Thermaltake V3 build quality. But I suppose it could be a 'fluke', or the BlacX edition could be different.

I dislike the external USB 3.0 cable, that's so 2011. 🙂

They're in a unique category just from the inclusion of a HDD dock. I've seen it in person and was impressed with the dock but not the internal layout. Cable management would be far too difficult. The placement of the HDD cage that faces towards the GPU prevents it from a clean look and blocks long GPUs.

I'm having trouble with a BlacX Duet docking bay I bought for a customer; its support for =>2TB disks is a bit shaky. I'm waiting for a firmware update to hopefully fix this problem, but the idea of potentially having a bit of useless non-removable tech stuck to the top of my case isn't very appealing.

I agree with the external USB 3.0 cable. When I first saw it, I was wondering how it worked.

Cable management wise I didn't have much problem, but then again I have a pretty basic build. I do have some problem fitting drives in as they'd hit the cables, but at this price I can't really complain.

A f/w update to the drive or to the Blacx?
