'Weekly Deal'

$24.99 is a sick deal anyways, the rebate makes it nuts. Free shipping as well. These are all copper, including the entire base and generally retail for over $50.

In particular I went for this because the orientation, AMD or Intel, is vertical so you don't have to worry about smashing into your DIMMs while trying to install the thing.

Older heatsink but still seems to fit basically everything on the market, especially since AMD hasn't changed heatsink mounts in forever.

Thanks for posting! I'm on the fence about picking up one of these for my FM1 3670k....the price is so tempting...bah.

Mine should be arriving tomorrow and I'm stoked. Already filed the rebate electronically too.

I've gone through a few heatsinks in the past few months trying to find one that was both well priced and would fit onto my mATX board without causing any problems. I thought the Freezer 7 Pro was gonna be it, but I can only run with 1 DIMM installed while using it, so it came out quickly. Then I settled on the Alpine 64 to tide me over and while it's far better than the stock AMD cooler and still got me a hundred or so more MHz out of my IGP, it's still pretty low end and doesn't keep up with a high TDP very well.

This should be solving all of my problems. And the copper in this may be worth some money in a few decades or something too.

Centauri - Please let us know how much of an improvement you get with the cooler on your FM2 rig. :)

Ahhhhh... Such an upgrade from the Alpine 64.

Running AIDA's full system stability test, I used to top out right around 68 degrees on CPU temp. Running for 20 mins with the new cooler installed; 54 :D

And this is on low-medium fan speed. :D

how does this compare to the hyper 212?

This has a solid copper base, unlike the 212+ which many people have had to sand down to build an even surface. I'd say this is probably closer to the Evo just by the nature of its design.

Haha. High fan speed may be loud, but in a matter of minutes it's dropped my CPU temp to 49 degrees.

It's keeping my IGP at 56 degrees too, which I currently have overclocked by 45%.
