Hello Again!
So I have the Thermaltake Armor VA8003BWS with an IP35 Pro inside. I recently had Thermaltake send me USB2 extensions for the top-mounted USB ports and am concerned about whether or not I have set them up correctly. They are USB2 connectors with the following appearance:
The wires are laid out as follows:
13579 ----> BBBBY
2468(10) ----> YRRRR
From this, I assume that the yellow wires are the shields and (hopefully, given that there is no indication otherwise) that the black and red wires are interchangeably used for the 5v, Data+/-, and Ground connections. Because the IP35 Pro has the set up
(5V)(D+)(D-)(G)(Shield)
(5V)(D+)(D-)(G)(Shield),
I assume it is alright to just reverse the wires on the bottom (i.e. YRRRR ----> RRRRY) but wanted to be sure given the risk of nontrivial damage if I'm wrong.
If anyone could provide a quick yes or no (perhaps some explanation, too) it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance and happy Labor Day!!
EDIT: Ok, I hadn't noticed this before, but now I'm thoroughly confused. The female end of the USB2 extender is as I described it, but the male end that connects to the headers coming from the USB ports on the case is switched up. On the male end, the yellow wire on top has the plastic triangle indicator over it. So now I am unsure if my initial assessment is even accurate. Any thoughts?

- 10 wires (dual usb2 connector)
- Of the top 5 wires, the first pin wire (the one beneath the little plastic triangle indicator) is black, as are the next 3 wires. The final wire is yellow
- On the bottom, there are four red wires and a yellow.
