Thermaltake Tsunami Case

I just bought one. this is my 2 week with it run down

+ light
+ drive rails are nice
+ comes with decent fans (are a bit loud not too bad)

- panels are thin and flimsly
- shiny look, looks plastic like to me (just my opinion)
- space inside cramped, much more then my Kingwin 424

that is my 30 second mini review. it's a nice case. Will be better when I get the fans on a controller so I can RPM them down

What are your recommendations for a fan controller?

depends on your budget. I have a Coolermaster Areogate, it has a nice LCD screen, and supports up to 4 fans. Thermaltake has the new Hardcano 13, this thing is beautiful, but expensive. I think it's almost 70 bucks on Newegg.

You only need a fan controller if you want to tone down the sound from the fans. You could replace all the fans in the case with quiet ones for probably less then a decent fan controller.

And I'll be honest, the case isn't that loud stock. I have my pc in my room on 24/7. And I never had a problem sleeping.

Another - for the case, no removable motherboard tray.

Honestly I don't like how the P180 looks. Just a matter of opinion. I like the way the Tsunami cases look and they have great airflow from what I understand. I'm still deciding on getting a Tsunami as they are a little pricey. I just want the best airflow and designed case for $100 w/o PSU that I can buy.

Meh I was about to buy one, after seeing it in person I changed my mind.

Tsunami cases are hard to beat from what I hear as far as air flow. And for the price. It's my understanding that very few cases for the price beat it.

I've got the Tsunami case and like it. However, it's airflow leaves a bit to be desired.

I've got a LGA775 3.4 (non-OC) Prescott that was reaching 65 or so with stock cooling in the Tsunami case. I replaced the stock cooler with a XP-90, which dropped load temps to around 55-60. That still seemed too high. I tried moving the computer closer to a window where it would be able to draw in cooler air. It helped occasionally for a couple degrees, but I think that's just been the weather changes.

I finally took the side door off and temps dropped into the mid 40s at idle and high 40s/low 50s under load on a hot day. This tells me the case just isn't letting go of the heat as well as expected. I think part of this might be the fact that the XP-90's fan is perpendicular and like 1 quarter inch away from the rear exhaust fan. That can't be good for proper airflow over the CPU. You've got a 120mm exhaust fan fighting to blow air out, while a 92mm fan on the XP-90 is trying to blow air in a different direction right next to it.

I'm looking at the new CoolerMaster mid-tower version of the Stacker, called the Stacker RC-830. It's due out in a month or so and I'll be moving to that case the minute I can get my hands on one.

The Tsunami case was a fine case in the winter, but when temps around here are 90-105 F in the summer, I'm finding out this case just doesn't cut it for me. I really do like it, though, so it's a shame.

I love my Tsunami case. Very easy to put everything in to. The only issue I had was with my 6800GT which is a long card. I just had to make sure there wasn't a hard drive in the bay closest to the video card, not a big deal at all. Internal temp is usually around 25°-29°C. I replaced the side 92MM fan with a high performance fan.

Which exact fan did you replace it with? Can you give me a name and model #? or a link? Thanks!
