Thermaltake TR2-700 PSU. Who knows more about it?

I am curious if someone has more info in this PSU, the Thermaltake TR2-700. This one has been fluctuating between $35AR and $45AR the last few weeks at the egg.

I bought one without even thinking it twice when it was $35AR based on glowing review by Gabriel Torres, who put it on par with the OCZ ZT 650W. Well, I didn't obviously read well the model of the PSU I bought, and that got evident when I received, as after opening it I realized that what the egg sold was a different PSU than what Gabe reviewed:

- Reviewed by HW was TR2-700P, sold at the egg was TR2-700
- Reviewed at HW, TR2-700P, was 80plus bronze. Sold at the egg, TR2-700, active PFC but no 80plus certification.
- TR2-700P has all cables sleeved. TR2-700 has only the motherboard branch sleeved.
- TR2-700P has 7 SATA, TR2-700 has 8 SATA.
- TR2-700P single 12V rail rated at 57A, TR2-700 single 12V rail rated at 52A.

I was feeling buyer's remorse as we all know how bad the TR2 series 600W and below are. The TR2-700P is a FSP design, and after searching, I found some info mentioning that the lower end TR2 are mostly HEC designs. My personal experience with HEC has been good, but it seems that the TR2 HECs are decidely bad.

Peeking closer at the TR2-700 I got, I could see the green tape in the chokes and transformer that is trademark of CWT. I'll admit that I am partial to CWT, as all the Corsair CXs I have bought have been great, so that made me feel better. After using it, the PSU perform really nicely, fan still quiet at high loads, cables are long and thick.

I am really curious if someone knows a little more. What modern CWT platform with active PFc and 52A 12V rail doesn't meet 80plus certification?
