Should work but why would you even want to? Spend 70$ or so on a QAULITY psu to keep your conscience at ease. Something like a corsair 450vx or a 430w seasonic s12 should do.

Thermaltake toughpower seem to be qaulity PSU's, purepower seems to be another story though.

What liitle I know of Tt.
The 750W units like to squeal and RMAs are no fun when dealing with Tt. I have heard little of their lower wattage units.
Corsair and Seasonic on the other hand will bend over backwards to make things right.
Chances of an RMA with Seasonic or Corsair are slim.

I'm doing a similar system (but with 8800GTS/320) on a 300W LiteOn. Works great. 4 HDDs, though... :)

So I actually should have some headroom for overclocking, nice

The low-end thermaltakes are absolute pieces of junk. I have one running a 1700+ with a Geforce4 MX and I'm pretty uncomfortable about it, it's going to get tossed as soon as I get around to buying a proper one. I think you're crazy, but hey, whatever works.

I wouldn't trust that PSU with my AthlonXP 2500+ with a Ti4200 let alone a quad core. Corsair HX520/VX450 should be what you're looking for if not the Antec Earthwatts/NeoHE/TruePower Trio lines.

Thanks for this thread! I was going with a TT PR2 550W for my new build until I started reading the opinions here of the low-end TT's.

Just pulled the trigger on an 520HX for $89 on Google (they're $129 on NE... sheesh!). I assume this unit will be enough for this build. I'm expecting shipment on everything by Labor Day weekend.
