The box says 21 dBA. Its NOT.
Sounds like a have a jet engine in my case. Anyhow does anyone know the real noice measurement of the Thermaltake Thunderblade 120?
Thanks

with thermaltake, usually if you add 20db to their listed spec, you will get a more accurate feel for how loud it will be.

Really? I just bought one and put it in my case and its dead silent. Moved alot of air too. I'm very happy with it, maybe you got a bad one.

look at the reviews on newegg alot of people are saying the same thing, I'n now expert but 21dBA and still moving 78CFM hardly seems possible.

I find that most people say that it's dead silent have other really loud components in their system that just cover up the Thermaltake fan noise.

It is quite obvious 21 db is not correct, there is no way a 120mm fan spinning at 2000 rpm is anywhere near that quiet. If you will notice, the 80 and 120 both spin at 2000 and both are rated 21 dba, which is impossible.

My guess would be 36 dba.

TT either lies or takes their sound test from 10 feet away. Usually add about 10 extra dba to get the right level.

Actually, IMO my components make very little noise. I haven't tested it with a meter or anything but it is acceptable to me and I'm ususally only a foot and a half away from my computer. BTW. I even tested the fans without any other fans or noismaking components on and they were still pretty quiet to my. Definitley not 21 DBA though, maybe 30, but not much higher than that. Maybe dead silent is an exaggeration, but they're pretty close.

lately i've been very dissapointed with thermaltakes products. I still like the tt venus 12 and their cases are built like tanks, but some of their specs have been misleading and their products have become ever more crappy. Tsk, Tsk, Tsk.
