Thermaltake Tai Chi replacement water pump

Cannot find anywhere on the Tt site where to buy a spare water pump for the Tai Chi water cooler case. Seems these things fail a lot and I want to be ready.

I need to do some basic info, is it the new revsion pump or old one?

You can tell by what type of tubing are you running your tai chi system at? IF i remember correctly, it should be 1/4, however i think you might got a 3/8 ID revision.

If you dont know.... I would need an aprox date on what you bought the tai chi.

Theres 2 pumps you can swap out to trouble free.... however you might need to get an addition reservoir.... And i wouldnt recomend you going back to another TT pump.

Thanks for replying. BTW, the Tai Chi system has not been delivered to me yet, but I was frightened by all the pump failures reported on their forums and in neweggs customer reviews and went looking for a back up on their site. No luck anywhere on their site. The Tai Chi should be delivered to me within days, I hope. I suppose if you have a pump failure you must RMA...
Thought about Danger Den pumps but not at all clear if they will fit where the Tai Chi pump goes in the side door. I Believe the tubing is 1/4.
What pumps do you suggest?

I cant really give you a good recomendation on any standard watercooling pumps. I did some research, thinking you would reply and ended up with not so great news.

The tubing is very restrictive that it will damage a dangerden D5 / DDC / DDC+ as well as there swiftech counter parts.

You could pull it off for a year on a DDC, or Swiftech 350, but as i said, you would seriously shorten its life on that loop.

Also, i dont think that setup would be really worth installing. Its raited at best near the same capacity as a tuniq tower. The new TT's LCS systems all use 3/8ID, as well as have a much stronger pump. <even tho i dont think those are very reliable too>

So at this point, you can have fun with it, until, or if it ever does, your pump dies. Or you can just start with AIR to begin with.

That is my suggestion, as much as i hate to give it. If you want recomendations to replace the entire kit, feel free to pm me.

I looked more closely at a review of the Tai Chi and it said 3/8 inch OD on the tubing. I'm glad I was in error as I did not realize what a bottleneck the tubing would be. Obviously, the pump itself may be also as I see the Danger Den pumps put out so much more... This is my first venture into water cooling and the lessons are being learned before I even get the system.

ahh if its 3/8ths then we can work something out here..

Swiftech 350 355

Dangerden DDC DDC+

These are all native 3/8th So a direct replacement is all you would need.

These pumps are also a lot stronger then the thermaltake so you should get better performance as well

50,000 hr MTBF on both these pumps, and there original maker is by laing. Very very reliable.
