I was checking this cooler out and was wondering if anyone here has experience with it? $99 at newegg. Thinking about getting this, and a 2500+ Barton 333 (hoping to OC to 3200+400).

Here are my system specs:

Asus A7N8X Deluxe
1600+ Palomino (for the moment) w/ Thermalright AX-7 + 50cfm Sunon
512mb Crucial (dual channel)
Gainward GF3 (also for the moment)
Antec Truepower 330 p/s
Sony 52x24X52 CDRW
Pioneer 16X DVD
Win2k Pro

When I first heard about it I thought it was going to be big, but after release it sort of fizziled and started dropping in price.

Yeah, looks pretty cool. I like the idea of an external AC hookup to power the TEC instead of robbing power from the ATX supply.

Yep, when I first saw it I thought we were about to see true consumer TEC's. I guess it doesn't work all that well.

To the contrary this thing works awsome, I have overclocked 4 different p4's with outstanding results. This is just as good as water cooling maybe better, it all depends reading instructions and having a little computer savy. I give this thing 5 out of 5 stars for my results!

P4 2.4C @ 3.2GHz 1.6v (Sandra reports 1.55v)
Abit IC7 w/ latest bios (temps seem to read higher???)
Artic Silver Ceramique
Room temp 24.4C

Thermaltake Spark7 w/ fan on lowest setting

[*]idle 47C
[*]full load 67C (prime 95 torture test thru pass #6)

Thermaltake Subzero4G

[*]idle 41C
[*]full load 69C (prime 95 torture test thru pass #6)

The subzero is extremely quiet during idle (21dB), but when you get above 50C the fan speed increases and at full speed it's very annoying. I touched the heatsink and it's scalding (of course). I was impressed till I put it under load, now I'm going to return it for a refund. :(

I didn't see a rating on the TEC in that document. Anyway, to cool any of todays cpu's especially prescots, you're gonna need at least 2 tec's, maybe even 4 to achieve really good results.

Well correct me if I'm wrong but the last time a 75 watt TEC was good for anything was when a Thunderbird 1.0 was state-of-the-art. Pretty much need the 156 or 226 variety now I believe.
