I am trying to attach this to my motherboard and having serious trouble. My motherboard is Asus P4C800-E, CPU is P4 2.8c GHz. When I am trying to hook it up, I am always getting short by close to 2 cm in either of the 4 sides(legs). What's the deal here? My coleague has also tried on his at the same time with same configuration or mobos and CPU and having the same problem (I hope he hasn't snapped his CPU or bend the pins).

Is it actually configured to work with this mobos or this CPU? Is 3.0 GHz is thinner than 2.8? coz it says on the specs that it's suppose to cool CPU 3.0 or higher.

I read some reviews, and no one mentioned anything like that. Should I use even more force? I think I have already pushed to the limits, don't wanna damage my cpu for this heatsink. After all, my cpu is retail boxed and came with the Intel's heatsink, I just wanted to get fancy.

Please reply anyone with any solution/feedback/suggestions.

Thanks.

Make sure heatsink is making contact with the cpu.
You will do that by checking the grease print at the bottom of the heatsink.
Also, make sure the retention pins are all the way in.

Last, maybe TT just has very tight clips.

Well, I did check all those, I used ASIII compound. And I'll have to agree with your last statement. These clips are very tight.

Finally I got it though, still I don't understand why they have to make the clips so short, making them tight.
