Thermaltake Smart Fan II

ok, I have a friend with the a SLK-800 heatsink, and using a thermaltake smart fan 2, where is he suppose to put the thermal sensor for the fan control option. anywhere I can see pics on where to put it?

You'd want to position on the side away from any direct airflow that might hit the sensor. In theory, this should be the warmest spot and best place to regulate the fan speed. For me, it's on the right side of the heatsink and away from the case output fans.
