Thermaltake Silent Boost review

I just picked up a Silent Boost to replace my stock HSF on my Palamino 1800+. The stock HSF was a small aluminum piece, with a very skinny 60mm fan or so. The fan spun at 5000rpm. It's wasn't really really loud, but it never cooled very well either. My CPU ran 52-55 at idle, a bit more under load.

The new HSF with AS5 keeps the CPU at right around 40C. It's very very quiet as well, and I must say I am very impressed.

I never got the model with the Panaflo, they only had the "-01" model in stock. I can not really compare the two, other than to say the one on here is very quiet.

I just ordered one of these with my new amd 64 system, I'm hoping it will keep it nice and cool, and I probably won't even need to hook it up to my fan controller because it says it only goes up to 21 dB

Yep, those are a great bang for the buck. If you want to overclock like mad, just change out the fan.
I have one in my HTPC and it never gets out of the 40's @ 100% load even though it is in a MicroATX case inside an audio rack! (I upped the fan to a Panaflo H1A)

I have mine hooked up to my Qfan on my Asus board. It drops the fan volatage to 8V if the CPU is under 60C. Honestly, I can't tell the difference if Qfan is on or off on this HSF. My stock one sure made a difference though...
