Now that Intel's Pentium 4 chip has officially been released and the initial "hoopla" is dying down, we can expect to see a barrage of Pentium 4 related products coming to market in the coming months. Motherboards and cooling units will be the quickest products brought to market, as the selection of both of these for Pentium 4 systems at this time is drastically low. While we have yet to see thirdparty motherboards hit the market at this time, we're starting to see Socket-423 coolers come to market, made to grab as much heat as possible out of Intel's newest scorcher.
One of the first companies out of the gate is Thermaltake, who has gained near legendary status as a cooler maker for their incredibly popular "Orb" series of coolers. The Golden Orb, Chrome Orb, Blue Orb, Super Orb, all of them have been successful. The reason Thermaltake has gained such a large market is not only because their coolers perform well, but are much cheaper than their competition, run relatively quiet, and have plenty of distribution all over the country. So it's no surprise that when Intel announced the Pentium 4 thermal specifications back at IDF, Thermaltake was all over it. Meet the latest entry to the Orb family, the Pentium 4 Golden Orb. ........
