I'm not sure why you bought a PSU when you already had a capable one? I would return the Thermaltake.

FWIW $75 isn't the best deal I've seen on a 750W unit. The Thermaltake isn't even modular. Even now, there's a better deal on newegg: XFX 750W XXX Bronze Modular $55 AR AP. An incredibly good deal on a unit that is worth $100+.

Sorry forgot to mention this was for a friends build (8320/560ti 448) - I actually got it for $50 no rebate to deal with.. The question is would it be worth the hassle to switch it out?

Ah ok. What is your friend's build like? If your friend's mobo is not SLI/Crossfire compatible, it's better off with the 600W unit. Then your rig would handle 7950 CF or other CF/SLI setup with the 750W unit in it. Also, if your friend's PC is less power hungry to begin with, the MK III 600W would run quieter in that one.

I am putting one together with a 8320, 890FX, 560TI 448, H60, 6 120mm fans and one HDD. The 8320 is capable of a 4.6 OC, just not sure if this motherboard will allow me too - Still have to try that out. So maybe a 4.6 OC

For my current PC, when I overclock my 7950 to 1225 or higher the PSU fan becomes the loudest fan in the system - pretty annoying too. I haven't checked to see what kind of wattage I am pulling, but this PSU is getting hot I presume since the fan spins up so loud.

Either way my friend won't care what PSU he is getting, that's why I am thinking about swapping the PSU, since this Thermaltake may be better.

OK well that FX rig is a bit more power hungry than your PC, and so the MK III will be as loud or slightly louder in that system. But if he doesn't care, then go ahead with the switch if you want :). I don't think the Thermaltake is better quality but it's still good quality, and will most likely be quieter

Thanks for the insight. I will muse over it awhile.
