Thermaltake K8 Silent Boost + S939

something tells me this thermaltake K8 cooler wont fit on a socket 939 board, eh? i dont see any notches on the socket to attach to. dammit. if thats the case, any links to some good s939 coolers?

also, it looks to me that to attach s939 coolers, you need access to both sides of the motherboard, correct?
 
It'll fit. K8= Athlon 64 (Socket 754, 939), Athlon 64FX (Socket 940, 939) and Opteron (Socket 940). The notches are on the inside of the socket. It's kinda weird the first time you install one, but it works.

and thanks for the info MDE. i was getting pissed that i was going to have to order something else. thanks the the heads up.
 
i checked it out and i can see the notches... still dont see how this will fit, but i guess ill find out next week. any installation guides somewhere?
 
Well, it was the easiest HSF I have ever seen to install. Set it in the hole (only goes in one way), put the clips over the edge, then turn the lever to pull it down tight.
