I am wondering if anyone has any insight on whether there is an advantage to replacing the stock HSF on my Gainward Ti4400 Golden Ultra/whatever 700/XP blah blah with a Thermaltake G4 setup? The main reason I am condiering switching is that currently the Gainward unit is the loudest fan in my system, plus I am not sure what material it is made of (i.e. Cu, Al, etc.). Currently it is OC'd to 285/600 but I would like to go higher. Is either setup more advantageous to cooling and/or sound level, or are they pretty close?

The TT will cool better since Gainward use the reference Nvidia design although I don't imagine it will improve the noise situation. As far as overclocking, it is entirely hit or miss. All because you put better cooling on it does not guarantee anything.
