Thermaltake case/P4 3.0 800FSB/ Kingston HyperX DDR434 PC3500 Questions

Hello,

I have the following in my shopping cart:

- Duel channel MOBO (Intel875P/Gigabyte GA-8IK1100)
- GP4 3.0GHz 800MHz FSB w/ 512KB (BOX with fan and heat sink)
- 2 X Kingston HyperX 512MB DDR434 PC3500 CL2 DIMM (1GB TOTAL)
- ATi All-in-Wonder Radeon 9800 PRO 128MB DDR AGP8X VIVO/DVI
- 2 X Western Digital Raptor 36.7GB 10K RPM 8MB Buffer SATA HDD
- Logitech Cordless Elite Duo Keyboard & Mouse
- A ThermalTake Xaser III SuperTower case w/ Window 420W PSU

The Xaser III case has 7 x 80mm Cooling Fans (2 fronts, 2 sides, 2 rears, 1 top) but the CPU comes with Intel's standard heat sink and cooling fan

My questions are:

Do I really need to replace the heat sink and cooling fan of the CPU if to do some serious over clocking, or is the cool case good enough?

This board is duel channel, I do have two identical memory sticks but they are not the ones that come in a matched pair kit, is that good enough for duel channel or do I have to have them the matched type to avoid any stability problems?

Any input will be highly appreciated
Thanks

for serious overclock you WILL need different heatsink/fan...

as for the memory sticks, you don't HAVE to.. but i hear people perfer it because of certain ram timings, the twin/pair packs have been tested so they can run the same ram timings.. something like that.. i have 2x512 like you that didn't come in a pair.. they both will run 2-3-3-7.. but only one stick will run 2-2-2-5.. the other wont, therefore, i can't run dual channel at 2-2-2-5... oh well

someone correct me if i'm wrong 🙂

Thanks a lot for your reply
I see the advantage of the matched kit on enabling more Duel channel operation choices but I don?t understand the advantage of 2-2-2-5 timing over 2-3-3-7 timing.
Does the first have an advantage over the second from performance/stability point of view?
