I have never used this 20+4pin psu on a 24 pin mobo. Do i just put in the 20 pin connector into the mobos 24 pin ATX power connector then put in the 4pin?

EDIT: Everyone is telling me the extra 4pin goes into the cpu connector, however the 4pin is tied right on the 20 pin main connector and its no where gonna reach it. Does anyone have any insights on this?

EDIT 2: A quick description on how the plugs are labled. the main connector says 20+ with an arrow ----> and the 4pin thats tied to it says 4P with an arrow <----

clip the 4pin on the side of the 20 pin, theres small rails that connect, then plug in to the mobo

20+4 pin plugs right into the motherboard.

Are you using a motherboard that has the 24pin connector? if not, detach the 4pin from the main 20pin and do not plug that 4pin into the cpu 4pin connector. There another 4pin connector that design to go into the cpu 4pin connector. Sometimes that 4 pin connector is label like 12v atx plug or somethen like that.

tell us what powersupply you have.

there are two but the other one is for the cpu connector, the thing is the 4pin that is dangling off the side of the 20 pin is more then likely the ones you guys are talking about, but it has no clip or rail design to put it together with the 20 pin.

then just slip in the 20 pin, and then slip in the 4 pin, you may have to twist it a bit, but it should go in

just try to put the 20 pin in the mobo, then the 4 pin

and the psu in that link has rails on the 20pin, so maybe you got a different one than you bought?

neither of them have anykind of rail or clip on them to connect them both together.... i provided the exact link i ordered right above yours. thats just great this is the second thermaltake im actually bringing back, the first time was a couple of years ago, i wasn't getting normal voltage ratings and now this. Thats it, im done with TT
