Thermalright XP-90 and Temperature

I'd like to know what others are getting as far as temperature on their XP-90 heatsink. I'm using a 92mm panflo fan on a 3800 Amd Venice Chip with artic silver 5. I now get 41c at Idle then after a full load for 30 minutes it goes up to 57c. I sanded the XP-90 down to the copper with fine sandpaper and got about 2-4c degrees less heat. Why doesn't ThermalRight ship with a smooth copper finish for optimum heat transfer?

The benefit to having this heatsink on is less fan noise with the Panflow but as far as heat
I was getting about the same temps with the retail stuff. Applied Artic silver 5 about 3 times same result so I guess I'll have to live with this temp.

I installed mine yesterday, booted up, and the temps rarely reached 50 °C under load. Today they stay at a constant 53 °C. 🙁

Some generic fan at 8 volts I had in the closet.

If you believe Abit's sensors, with CnQ enabled I stay at 31C idle and maybe 43 in CS:S However, with CnQ off and Prime95 stressed it hit 51C once.

Here's what I'd suggest. The AS5 takes 100 hours to set in. So just hang tight for a couple of weeks and repost then. 🙂

XP-90 with 90mm Panaflo; A64 3200 (NC core) @ 2.56 Ghz

CnQ is off.
