I have that board, and that heatsink but I'm not using them together. I'm using a Zalman7000AlCu with that board and it works great.

Playing with the XP-120, it looks like there will be clearance issues with it's heatpipes. They look like they'll either impinge on the DIMM slots on one side or a row of caps on the other side, depending on which way you choose to orient the heatsink.

Are you trying to run this fanless? If so, I'd look at the XP-90. It's about 95% as good as the XP-120 with a whole lot less fitment issues.

yes, Iw ant to run it fanless. I know a Pnetium M will do ok with a smaller heatsink but I figure.. what the heck.. the cooler the better! Besides I had already bought this for my original htpc plans (amd)

Either way. Do you think it's at all possible to fit it or not? Sorry but I didn't fully understand (english isn't my native language).

Anyway.. are you happy with this board? What would you say are the biggest pros and cons of this whole setup?

I can't say for sure without actually trying it, but if you were forcing me to make a call, I'd say it wouldn't fit without the heatpipes hitting some of the capacitors. However, if you were willint to bend some of the caps, it will probably fit.

Yes, I'm happy with the board.


Pros:

- It works and is stable.
- It takes standard S478 heatsinks.
- It has onboard USB 2.0 and Firewire headers (for front mounted I/O ports).
- It's undervoltable so the CPU can run even cooler than stock.

Cons:

- It is expensive.
- BIOS level fan controls not too well thought out (but not really needed either).

Hey, is there any mod to increase vcore on this board? I know there is a socket wire trick for the DFI.

I'm seriously considering going this route. Much TIA.
