i just bought one and have installed it on my abit nf7-s motherboard in preparation for my 2500+ unlocked barton coming in the mail, i am concerned about the backplate touching the bottom of CPU socket underneath. when i install the motherboard will the backplate touch the bottom of case and cause short? you put the black square towards the CPU socket correct? or towards bottom of case? sorry for being a noob but do not want to ruin the motherboard when i apply the power. thank you

Just follow the installation instructions at thermalright's webpage (under installation and download) and you should be fine. I'm using an nf7s and 947 right now and i've not had a single problem yet.

The rubber square on the back plate is pressed against the motherboard, preventing a short. Same goes for the nylon washers that come with it and fasten it to the board as well.
