Okay guys, I need your help.

Help me pick a HSF for my IC7+2.6C. I' ll be overclocking the 2.6C up to 260+FSB level . I need a good balance between noise and performance..

Any inputs? Pls include the kind of FAN youre using-RPM,idle temp, temp at full load, noise level etc.. TY..

As long as you're overclocking, go with the SLK-900. I would say Zalman if not, it runs at low noise levels.

I got the Zalman. You don't have to take the motherboard out to mount or remove it. I overclock my 2.53@3.06Ghz fine.

Whats better for the best cooling quiet combo? SLK-800U or Zalman's HSF. If the fan is only 5dbs higher I dont care.

The SLK-900 will cool better than the Zalman only if combined with a fan that will exceed 80-90cfm, but if cooling power and cooling power ONLY is your interest it is your choice of the two. I don't have a Swiftech HSF but their owners swear by them.

I've had the swiftech 4000 and returned it because I was unimpressed (temps higher than I like, low quality manufacturing IMHO) I then got the SLK900U and was extremely impressed, temps are 6-8c lower and it just screams quality.

Hey, I want to get an HSF now, too. I currently have an Alpha PAL8045 with a YS Tech 48CFM fan. I am thinking of getting the Thermalright SLK-900-U, but I would like to know if this will be an improvement over my current HSF. Also, what would be a good fan to get for it? I don't want a very loud fan, btw. Thanks.

just make sure to check if you mobo is compatible with the SLK-900 U...some mobo might have capacitors in the way of that monster...
